Second Sunday Sock Hop

From myspace.com/secondsundaysockhop: Do you like to go to dance parties as much as we do? Are you getting sick of all those stupid hipster dance parties as much as we are? Then look no further! A group of us get together every second Sunday of each month at a cozy little bar in East Austin called the Longbranch Inn (1133 E. 11th St.) and play all of our favorite tunes from the 50’s through the 70’s for people to dance, drink, and socialize to. We play anything from R&B, vintage rock n’ roll, doo woop, girl groups, rockabilly, garage, first wave ska, soul, and top it off with baby powder on the floor for those special moves!

Movies in the Park: Republic Square
Free, Summer Saturdays
Best in Show May 10th – bring dogs!

Barton Springs does movies too… mostly kids stuff. Except last year they did Jaws and had people grabbing your feet! You sit in tubes and watch a movie on this huge screen.

KGSR’s Blues on the Green should start soon too… don’t know when but you can guarantee that I will be there 🙂
