Choo Choo: New Adventures, Wine-Filled Sports Bras and Super T Shirt Saturday

Hello PT passengers, both willing and reluctant:

I’ve started a blog! I’m still kind of feeling it out so am not sending out the url yet but I figure rather than digging through your email for all the fun stuff going on, you can just click to the blog going forward.

Before we go any further… take a look at this miracle of engineering. The WineRack. I know, it’s amazing. All my (female) friends are getting this for their 2009 birthdays. Gives you a huge rack AND is full of delicious alcoholic beverage? Perfection.

In a related story, I now have tickets for my show choir. Purchase if, and only if, you want to see me embarrass the hell out of myself on stage. Bunch of girls and gay dudes singing various famous songs with dancing. To give you an idea of the level of mortification that will ensue, we “learned” how to tap dance last Saturday. Right. www.RiverCityPops.org . March 5th – 8th.

Lastly, this Saturday is the big birthday celebration. Inappropriate is the new black. http://www.evite.com/app/publicUrl/FPEWWKVFBELOZBLTABBK/tshirt. Come play on the East Side in your favorite offensive t shirt.

Yours in “Is it really only Tuesday?”,
Kelly

New Adventures From this Weekend: (I think I was on glue when I came up with batman and robin rating. Actually, probably just still tipsy from New Years. That is too damn much work, I’ll just let you know what’s fun)
Gruene Hall: Great venue, great town, great sangria, free shows!!! It’s a 50 minute drive that is totally worth it
Seth Walker: Fabulous voice, good stage presence, huge nose, hot bassist. 🙂
Shangri-La:. Cool new bar, lots of outdoor space, only one bathroom and potential death from falling down uneven stairs
Second Sunday Sock Hop: Now hosted at Shangri-La. Lots of hipsters, 50s outfits, gorgeous people and 50s dancing. Pretty awesome event. Very definitely an experience you should have in A-town
Latitude: Random bar we stumbled on – great big open space. Granted, we were the only two in the bar, which allowed for a great photo shoot and a private blues concert, but it has major potential for fun and future parties

New Exercise for a New Year: Ice Skating!
Thursday: ISkate Night at northcross from 4pm – 9pm. Bring in your ipod and you get to chose 3 songs to play over the ice. Come early and get a free slice of papa john’s pizza from 4pm – 7pm.
Saturday: Free Try Me Classes, Saturdays @ 11:10 at northcross arena or 11:25 at the i-35 location
Public session hours subject to change…please contact the rink to confirm class availability! Classes are for ages 6 and up. Skate rental is included. Class size is limited,so arrive early to sign up with the cashier!

New Adventure Race: Urban Dare (We did the urban assault ride last year and it was fantastic, if exhausting – this looks similar)
http://www.urbandare.com/; Part photo hunt, part trivia, part dares. Solve clues to find checkpoints throughout the city.

New Years Resolution: 2009 is year of self enrichment. Try out first Saturdays at Texas State History Museum. Http://www.thestoryoftexas.com/special/first_saturdays.html for free exhibit admission and this Hyde Park Theater is having a FronteraFest: Four or Five plays shorter than 25 minutes. Get Artsy 🙂
