Party Train: Facial Hair Competition, Spike and Mikes & Lots of Latin Dancin’

Hello Valentine’s Survivors!

Here are some good things for your week. Hilarious hockey commentary, Also, St. Arnolds is having a GREAT promo: Saint Arnold launches Austin scavenger hunt. Go search for Austin landmarks at various bars (as seen on their youtube), get invited to a party and potentially win a kegerator. Because its college every day… On the more cultured side of things, prep your calendar for Art Night Austin on Feb 28. Art Night Austin is an exclusive, chauffeured art and culinary trek to Austin’s galleries and museums. Food and wine and art oh my!

Yours in “because we can”,

New Adventures
· Draught House: So not totally new but a good time to remind everyone that you can tailgate, have delicious beers, get free pizza on Wednesdays, brats/sauerkraut on Saturdays and enjoy our gorgeous Austin weather in a parking lot under the stars.
· WildFire: Random find in Georgetown. This place is fabulous – great menu – some local, very creative, good portions, reasonable prices for everything from pasta to ostrich to steaks. YUM.
· Moo Ya: Good burgers, better milkshakes. A lot like 5 guys. Patties on the thin side but the flavor is delish. And all the toppings you add are free. Onions, mushrooms, wing sauce…
· Moonshine Grill: Ended up here after the expo this week with some great ladies. Calamari was lightly fried, salted just right and served with a great sauce. Their artichoke fondue was chunky and creamy. They have a brunch on Sundays that I hear is delectable and a happy hour starts at 3 with half price apps and specialty martinis.
· StarBar: An old… well, not exactly fave. On the oh-so-trendy west 6th. But you can usually find a good conversation and cheap lonestars so that’s a better gig than standing around at the ranch wondering if you’ve landed in on planet Paris Hilton.

New Deals:
$5 You call its at Belmont every Saturday, all night
1/3 off ANY bottle of wine at Cru on Sundays. BOO YA.

New Find for Future: Four-course, pre-set meals with coffee or tea are $25 for adults, $15 for children 10 and younger. Tax and tip are included. You can bring your own beer and wine. Glasses and opening service are complimentary. Dinner is served at 7 p.m. Thursdays-Sundays. Seating begins at 6:45 p.m. Reservations are required. Call 402-9900 by Wednesday at noon to eat on Thursday, by noon Thursday for Friday and by noon Friday to eat on Saturday or Sunday. You order your entrée when you make the reservation. The menu is posted in advance at Sample food: paella, Brazilian feijoada or Cajun jambalaya and bread pudding with bourbon cream sauce. The week before that, Senegalese peanut soup and a main course of mahi-mahi or pepper-rubbed pork chops.
