Party Gras: Free Food, Cajun Cuisine & Giving up Facebook for Lent

Hi Party Train Passengers:

I finally started a blog! It will have all my fabulous party train blogs and additions on AtrainPartyTrain.blogspot.com. I’ll still send the email though… just to add a little sunshine to your week 🙂

  1. So it’s Monday and you’re already ready already for the weekend? A way to pass the time: Self tests on http://www.psychologytoday.com/pto/self_tests.php.
  2. Majestic Grapevine Market is having a “customer appreciation” sale – 50% off lots of items — through 3/9.
  3. I don’t know whether to be intrigued or appalled: The mustache contest from Friday: http://www.austin360.com/alist/mediahub/media/slideshow/index.jsp?tId=146959.
  4. It’s a week for all things Cajun. Here are some restaurants in A-town that serve up the spicy grub: Evangelines Café, Gumbos, Genes Po Boys, Ms. Bs, Louisiana Longhorn Café, Nubian Queen Lola’s Soul Food, Cypress Grill, & Fish City Grill
  5. People giving up facebook for lent? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123509424821028985.html. I am giving up something easy like drinking or cheese.

Yours in avoiding 6th street like the plague,

Kelly

Free Food:

Adventures from this week:

  • County line off bee caves – barbecue was fabulous, sun sparkling off water, amazing chipotle poppers and huge glasses of soda.
  • Toy joy – what a conglomeration of weird stuff. Everything from evil hello kitty to fake snakes to battleship ice makers (sink one in your drink!)
  • $1 Movie – you really cannot beat 1.50 movies. It’s the cheapest gig in town.
  • Asti – fun menu, decent food, get a restaurant.com gift certificate!
  • Taqueria Vasquez – East of 35 on braker. No they don’t have jalapeno ranch. They do have delicious tacos and delish salsa.
